Description
Technical Parameters

Fruit raw materials vary widely in firmness, surface sensitivity, sugar content, cut size, and incoming temperature. A successful line must therefore protect the product while adapting the process route to the fruit. Delicate strawberries and blueberries require gentle washing, careful transfer, efficient dewatering, and controlled feeding; mango, pineapple, and peach pieces may require cutting, optional treatment, cooling, and more intensive surface-moisture removal before freezing.

The Fruit Processing Production Line is designed as a modular platform rather than a fixed sequence. Based on the product, the system can combine a bubble washer, selecting conveyor, optional mesh-belt blancher, normal-water and ice-water pre-coolers, vibrating dewatering, an elevator with air blowers, a vibrating feeder, a fluidized-bed IQF freezer, and post-freezing sorting. This approach supports product changeovers without forcing every fruit through unnecessary treatment.

FLEXIBLE PROCESS ADVANTAGES

1. Fruit-Specific Routing: Fragile berries, firm whole fruit, and diced fruit can follow different preparation and cooling routes.

2. Reduced Mechanical Stress: Matched transfer heights and controlled conveying help limit bruising, crushing, and repeated manual handling.

3. Gentle Cleaning and Inspection: Bubble washing, spray rinsing, and a selecting conveyor remove contamination while allowing visual quality control.

4. Targeted Moisture Management: Vibrating drainage and air-assisted elevation reduce surface water before IQF freezing.

5. Uniform Freezer Loading: A vibrating feeder creates an even product layer and improves exposure to fluidized cold air.

6. Individual Quick Freezing: Rapid heat removal helps fruit pieces or suitable whole berries remain separate for weighing and packing.

7. Adaptable Finishing Section: Fruit sorting, inspection, metal detection, weighing, bagging, and cold-store conveying can be added as required.

APPLICATIONS

Suitable products include strawberries, blueberries, mango cubes, pineapple pieces, peach segments, and other prepared fruits that can tolerate the selected conveying and freezing method. The strawberry route shown in the reference material uses bubble washing, manual selection, vibrating dewatering, air-assisted elevation, vibrating feeding, fluidized IQF freezing, and post-freezing sorting. For diced or heat-treated fruits, optional blanching and two-stage water cooling can be incorporated before dewatering. Final settings depend on fruit variety, ripeness, size, sugar content, surface condition, and package requirements.

REFERENCE CONFIGURATION

Process Stage

Typical Equipment

Main Function

1. Raw Material Feeding

Feed table or low-impact conveyor

Introduces fruit steadily while limiting drops and compression.

2. Primary Washing

Bubble washer

Loosens soil and surface contamination with water circulation and gentle agitation.

3. Selection

Selecting conveyor

Provides space to remove damaged, underripe, or unsuitable fruit.

4. Preparation

Destemmer, cutter, or dicer (optional)

Prepares whole fruit or pieces to the required finished size.

5. Heat Treatment

Mesh-belt blancher (optional)

Supports selected fruit processes requiring controlled thermal treatment.

6. Initial Cooling

Normal-temperature water pre-cooler (optional)

Removes initial heat after treatment and begins rapid product cooling.

7. Deep Cooling

Ice-water pre-cooler (optional)

Lowers product temperature further before dewatering and freezing.

8. Dewatering

Vibrating de-watering machine

Removes free water while loosening and distributing the product.

9. Air-Assisted Transfer

Elevator with air blowers

Raises fruit gently and provides additional surface drying when suitable.

10. Uniform Feeding

Vibrating feeder

Spreads fruit into a controlled layer at the freezer inlet.

11. IQF Freezing

Fluidized-bed IQF freezer

Quick-freezes suitable fruit while promoting individual separation.

12. Frozen Sorting

Fruit sorter or inspection conveyor

Removes defects and separates products according to the required grade.

13. Packing

Weighing and packing system

Produces finished packs for transfer to frozen storage.

Q&A

Q: Which fruits can be processed on this line?

A: Typical products include strawberries, blueberries, mango, pineapple, peach, and other suitable whole or cut fruits. Each product requires its own confirmed process route.

Q: Does every fruit need blanching and water pre-cooling?

A: No. These stages are optional and are used only when the product or process requires heat treatment. Delicate berries normally follow a gentler route without blanching.

Q: How does the system reduce bruising and fruit damage?

A: Low-impact feeding, controlled transfer heights, matched conveyor speeds, and product-specific equipment settings reduce unnecessary drops, squeezing, and repeated handling.

Q: Why is surface dewatering important before IQF freezing?

A: Excess water can form ice connections between pieces. Vibrating drainage and suitable air drying help improve separation and reduce avoidable ice buildup.

Q: Can one line process both berries and diced fruit?

A: Yes, if the line is designed with suitable bypasses, adjustable controls, change parts, and cleaning procedures. Product trials are recommended before final configuration.

Q: Can a frozen fruit sorter be installed after the freezer?

A: Yes. A sorter or inspection conveyor can remove defects, separate grades, and provide more consistent feed to the weighing and packing section.

Q: Can the line connect with automatic packing and cold storage?

A: Yes. Metal detection, multihead weighing, bagging, cartoning, pallet handling, and frozen-store conveying can be integrated into the downstream system.

Q: What project information should the customer provide?

A: Please provide fruit type, form and size, ripeness, inlet temperature, target capacity, package format, utilities, factory layout, working schedule, and automation requirements.
